Welcome to the
Mission Statement
The mission of the Elementary Math and Science Alliance is to excite area elementary teachers and their students about science and mathematics by providing activities focusing on “best practices”. Best practices will include:
- hands-on activities connected to the Kentucky Core Content
- real world applications
- higher level thinking strategies
- inquiry based instruction
We meet several times each year to share activities and provide resources so that teachers can teach the lessons in their own classrooms.
Affiliates

CINSAM NIGHT
Wednesday Sept. 19, 2007
The Elementary Math and Science Alliance met during CINSAM Night on September 19, 2007 to brainstorm possible workshops for the 2007-2008 school year. A brief demonstration of force and motion utilizing a skateboard and a seesaw had our creative juices flowing. We decided to concentrate on geometry for our fall math workshop, earth science for our winter science workshop, and an integrated math and science workshop for the spring.
