Responsibilities:  Direct the efforts to promote the Pre-Engineering program and increase the enrollment in this program as well as in the physical science disciplines.  Also, manage and organize CINSAM outreach activities and events in terms of planning and organization.  Serve on the State-Wide STEM Taskforce and represent CINSAM at the Northern Kentucky Council of Partners. 

Elifrits teaches course work in the Geology Program in the areas of resources and soils, GLY 240 and 341 respectively.  He offers an introductory career orientation course for new students in pre-engineering and physics (PHY 100) as well a section of Integrative Natural Science (SCI 110).  He coordinates efforts to increase the visibility of engineering careers for students K – 12 and frequently presents information about these careers to students and parents.  He is active in professional societies in the areas of mining engineering, environmental geology and engineering and applied science degree program accreditation.  He is currently serving as Director of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration, Inc.  His community activities include serving as a Trustee for his church congregation and an active member of the Rotary Club of Covington.
