Responsibilities:   Committee chair and tournament manager for the Northern Kentucky FIRST LEGO League (FLL), spokesperson to FLL community events and media inquiries, management of committee members and volunteer coordinator for the Power Puzzle Challenge (alternative energy).  Plan and implement volunteer and coaches’ trainings.  FLL script and document editor.   The FIRST LEGO League INSPIRES kids to participate in science and technology; ENGAGES kids in playful and meaningful learning; PROVIDES a fun, creative, hands-on learning experience; CHALLENGES kids to solve real-world problems using robotics; TEACHES kids to experiment and overcome obstacles; and BUILDS self-esteem and confidence.  Each year, FLL puts forth a challenge, which entices kids to think like scientists and engineers, and teaches kids to experiment and overcome obstacles.  No matter what the child’s subject interest, FLL offers an opportunity for engagement.  Whether it is by creativity, technology, or research, FLL dares kids to test, explore, expand, or completely change thoughts and approaches for different sciences each year.

Heather also maintains the CINSAM outreach activities and is the administrative support to the Director and staff.  She maintains the departmental budgets. 

During the fall of 2008, she will begin studying for her Masters in English.  Her thesis will be a gothic novel.
